Date A Live: Ren Dystopia Game to Make Worldwide Release on Steam in 2024

Idea Factory International has exciting news for fans of the Date A Live light novel series, as it announces the worldwide release of “Date A Live: Ren Dystopia” on PC via Steam in 2024. The eagerly anticipated release will feature additional content, including two audio dramas (“Natsumi Encounter” and “Origami Friendship”) and an exclusive short novel (“Ren Masques”) available in the Deluxe Edition. The announcement was made on Thursday, raising the anticipation levels among gaming enthusiasts and Date A Live enthusiasts alike.

To provide a glimpse of what’s to come, Idea Factory International also streamed the opening movie of the game, building excitement for the global launch.

Originally released by Compile Heart in September 2020 for PlayStation 4, Date A Live: Ren Dystopia was met with enthusiasm from fans of the series. However, the release faced a delay from its initially planned launch in the summer of 2019 due to “various circumstances,” as cited by the company.

The game’s narrative kicks off on a seemingly ordinary night, as Shido experiences a mysterious dream with a voice echoing from the depths of darkness. When he wakes up, a box adorned with serpentine patterns awaits him, leading to a series of events that unravel a captivating storyline.

Koushi Tachibana, the original creator of the Date A Live light novel series, played a pivotal role in crafting the game’s story. Tsunako, responsible for character design, ensures the game maintains the distinct visual appeal associated with the Date A Live universe. Additionally, fans can expect to encounter Natsumi, a character introduced in the anime’s third season and voiced by Ayumi Mano, along with new Spirits making their debut in the game.

The Date A Live light novel series, which began in March 2011 with illustrations by Tsunako, concluded its 22-volume run in March 2020 under Kadokawa’s Fantasia Bunko imprint. Yen Press has been releasing the English versions of the novels.

The success of the light novels has spawned various manga adaptations and video game releases, solidifying Date A Live’s presence across different media.
