“How to Become Ordinary” TV Anime Set to Premiere in July 2024

Based on novels by Hyouka writer Honobu Yonezawa!

In a highly-anticipated development, Honobu Yonezawa’s “Shoshimin” novel series, first published in 2004, is officially set to receive a TV anime adaptation titled “How to Become Ordinary.” The announcement comes with a teaser visual, a trailer, cast and staff details, and an exciting premiere window scheduled for July 2024.

The teaser visual, showcasing the English title “How to Become Ordinary,” introduces the main characters voiced by Shuichiro Umeda (Akira in Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead) as Jogoro Kobato and Hina Yomiya (Anna in The Dangers in My Heart) as Yuki Osanai.

Directed by Mamoru Kanbe (known for works like The Promised Neverland and The Perfect Insider), the anime adaptation is produced by studio Lapin Track. Toshiya Ono serves as the series composer, Atsushi Saito (Love Live! Superstar!!) as the character designer, and Takahiro Obata (The Promised Neverland) takes on the role of the music composer.

The narrative of “How to Become Ordinary” unfolds around two students — a cynical boy ostracized for his deductive abilities and a reserved yet perceptive girl struggling to fit in. Their quest for a peaceful, ordinary high school life takes an unexpected turn when mysterious incidents begin to unfold around them.
